About Our Practice
What makes Pearl & Pine different from other dental offices?
Pearl & Pine takes a functional, biological, and airway-focused approach to dentistry. We look beyond teeth and gums to understand how oral health connects to breathing, sleep, inflammation, and overall well-being. We use biocompatible materials exclusively, offer advanced diagnostics including CBCT airway imaging, and take the time to truly know each patient. Our goal is long-term health, not just today's treatment.
Do you see patients of all ages?
Yes. We see patients from infancy through seniors and genuinely enjoy working with families. We are especially passionate about pediatric airway evaluation and early orthodontic assessment, as early intervention can make a meaningful difference in a child's long-term health.
Are you a mercury-free practice?
Yes. We do not place amalgam (silver) fillings. For patients who want existing amalgam removed, we follow the IAOMT SMART protocol, which is the gold standard for safe removal, minimizing mercury vapor exposure throughout the procedure.
Do you offer sedation?
Yes. We offer both nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation for patients who experience dental anxiety or are undergoing longer procedures. Our entire team is also trained to support anxious patients with patience, clear communication, and a calming environment.
Insurance and Payment
Do you accept dental insurance?
We are an out-of-network practice. We work with most PPO dental insurance plans and file courtesy insurance claims on your behalf. This allows us to focus on the best possible care without the limitations of insurance network contracts.
Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes. We offer third-party financing through Cherry, which allows you to split your treatment costs into manageable monthly payments. Applications are quick, and many patients are approved within minutes. Ask our team for details.
About Biological and Holistic Dentistry
What is biological dentistry?
Biological dentistry considers how oral health, dental materials, and dental treatments may impact overall health and well-being. This approach emphasizes biocompatible materials, minimally invasive treatment, and thoughtful decision-making that supports long-term health.
What does airway-focused dentistry mean?
Airway-focused dentistry recognizes that healthy breathing is foundational to healthy growth, sleep, and overall wellness. The way we breathe can influence jaw development, facial growth, oral function, sleep quality, and long-term health. At Pearl & Pine, we incorporate airway considerations into our evaluations and treatment planning, helping identify factors that may contribute to mouth breathing, snoring, sleep-disordered breathing, jaw development concerns, and other functional issues. Our goal is to support not only healthy teeth, but healthy breathing and lifelong wellness.
Do you offer fluoride alternatives?
Yes. We offer hydroxyapatite, a naturally occurring tooth mineral, and other fluoride-free preventive options for patients who prefer to avoid fluoride. We respect patient choice and will never pressure anyone into a protocol they are uncomfortable with.
How does oral health affect overall health?
Oral health and systemic health are deeply connected. Bacteria in your mouth can enter your bloodstream and contribute to cardiovascular disease. Chronic oral inflammation is linked to metabolic conditions and systemic inflammatory disorders. Airway dysfunction affects sleep, hormones, and cognitive health. By treating oral health comprehensively, we support whole-body wellbeing.
